Copy-paste replaces double-slash \\ with single slash \

I’m trying to copy-paste some Latex equations and something is removing my double slash \. Is there a way to modify default copy-paste behavior?

For instance, when I paste the following equation, the \ is replaced with \
[\left(\begin{array}{cc}1&2\3&4\end{array}\right)]

I found a workaround – add HTML segment instead of default. This way copy-paste works as expected
