Hey guys at Ghost, with Node.js v10 LTS currently being recommended support for Ghost, and with LTS for v10 finishing relatively soon at around this time 2021, I was wondering if the core dev team had any plans to move to v12 of Node as recommended support?

I want to migrate my self hosted install to node v12 (which you guys state as supported), but am concerned about how stable it is, see “[Running Ghost on the latest version of node is not guaranteed to work, and we’re unable to offer support for any issues. Ghost is a small team so we keep version support to a minimum to give us time to build new features](https://ghost.org/faq/node-versions/)”.

Is the core team planning to move to v12 as recommended soon, and if so when? @DavidDarnes

Thanks guys and keep up the great work.

Hi @zoombinis290! 👋 Yep, we’re currently in the process of updating this and should be able to promote the recommended version to v12 very soon 🙂

@daniellockyer just curio - did something change from the LTS support policy? From my understanding, v12 doesn’t become active LTS until October

@vikaspotluri123 Node v12 actually became Active LTS on 2019-10-21, according to [GitHub - nodejs/Release: Node.js Release Working Group](https://nodejs.org/en/about/releases/).

We were a little behind on promoting/demoting Node versions but I’m aiming to pick up Node 14 when it becomes LTS in October 🙂

Does anyone know if there are plans to allow ghost to be used with node 14 when it goes LTS on the 27th of October?

@digitaltoast node support is always linked to LTS, so yes when node 14 goes LTS we’ll be adding support. As to the actual date when support for new LTS versions is added, that depends on when a Ghost release is made, typically releases are every two weeks so it’s unlikely to change the same day that node’s LTS version changes.

Hi there; any heads up on when this is likely to be supported?
[Supported node versions for self-hosted installs of Ghost](https://ghost.org/faq/node-versions/) still says 13 and above are unsupported.

I got node 14 and Ubuntu 20, and I can’t see any of those _snippets_ that are mentioned on Github, could that be related?

Also, my site seems to be twice as fast, and it was lightning fast before also, madness

(Edit: yes upgraded to 3.37.1. Still no snippet thing when writing posts).

How can I disable Member Portal or translate the text?

Snippets can be created by selecting some content or clicking on a card and then clicking the “create snippet” icon in the toolbar.

I think [this thread](https://forum.ghost.org/t/ghost-run-works-ghost-start-does-not/8927) is a better place to ask; specifically this post:
