Importing posts from a second SS publication

Tēnā koutou!

If I import posts and/or subscribers from SS, into a Ghost publication that already has posts and subscribers, will that screw anything up?

Some background;

I’ve been setting up a Ghost instance at blog.disintermedia.net.nz over the last couple of weeks. With help from Dave Lane (@lightweight@mastodon.nzoss.nz), a friend in the local software freedom community, whose day job is hosting services for OERU. Following the instructions in the docs, I’ve imported the posts and subscribers from the previous iteration of the Disintermedia blog on SS. So far, so good.

But now I’m thinking about importing the posts from another publication on SS; the blog of a worker-owned co-op I was trying to start with a couple of friends. The startup didn’t work out (they usually don’t). but I’d like to republish some of the general interest pieces I wrote for the Bridge Seat blog, and finish some of the ones I was drafting there for the Disintermedia blog too.

Since I got no response to this question, I was forced to go in blind. I confirmed with Dave that my Ghost database could be reverted to the previous state if a secondary import caused problems, and gave it a whirl. Fortunately it worked fine. Both published posts and drafts were imported, under a new author name, which made it easier to find them. Great stuff.
