# Offer URL is going straight to Stripe checkout

I created a 30-day free trial **offer** for my readers and the link it generated takes me directly to Stripe’s checkout page, instead of that nice Portal signup card.

I don’t know what I am doing wrong.

How did you resolve this? I’ve just come up against it – Offer link is being sent straight to Stripe, instead of the Offer popup!

Ok, I’m going to answer my own question here, in case anyone else runs up against this problem. I asked a friend (🤖), that identified the issue is that this activity occurs—bypassing of the Portal modal popping up for Offers, instead going straight to the Stripe checkout—when you are not displaying the Portal button on your site.

Switch the Portal button back on → problem resolved.

If you then wish to hide the Portal button (without actually switching it off) just put this little code string into the Settings \> Code Injection \> Header field:

```auto
<style>
.gh-portal-triggerbtn-iframe { display: none !important; }
</style>

```

And hey presto! Everything looks like it did before (i.e. no Portal button on your site) but Offers now display via the Portal.

From Ghost 6.45.0 onwards the portal offer screen always opens, independent of the Portal button visibility setting.
