Actually, there should be a Delete option. Hiding comments and Deleting comments means totally different things. Hi @egg sorry for mentioning you here. Just need a little clarrifications form your end. Once we hide a comment, will it be removed from the database?
This is what I meant lol. Hiding and deleting are 2 totally different things. I am not sure what you said earlier is accurate, how can the site treat your administrator access and member access emails differently but yet not recognise admin email for commenting, makes no sense.
But we can suggest them and get more new features. C’mon man, they gave us Native search and Native comments after years. Lets help them to improve those features.
Comments are not removed from the database in either circumstance. They are soft-deleted, which means their content won’t be available publicly, but will remain in the database.
Why would you need to do that?
For now there isn’t an API for it, so you’ve have to delete it from the DB manually
Because sometimes some people are commenting youtube links, spam links, scam links. So once we hide it the comments section will be looks like a bunch of a hidden comments.
That’s a good piece of feedback re: the UI, @thimiraonline. We will definitely take it into consideration as we continue to improve comments overall.
Closing this thread as native comments has now been launched, and the issue being discussed is referenced elsewhere.
