ActivityPub not working after migration

Network tab isn’t working and the logs show only this error:

[2026-01-23 15:00:56] INFO URL Service ready in 1472ms
[2026-01-23 15:00:57] INFO Explore Response 200 OK
[2026-01-23 15:00:57] ERROR No webhook secret found - cannot initialise

After much struggle, I got ActivityPub working on my original DigitalOcean installation (Ghost CLI). Last week I moved the instance to a local server by installing fresh on the target server using Ghost CLI, doing a manual DB backup / restore, and copying the entire content directory.

Everything APPEARED to be working perfectly, even the Network tab, but the last few days I’ve seen the error above, and the network tab is no longer working. Console shows 403 errors when attempting to access ActivityPub.

Any insights would be appreciated!

You’re using Ghost Pro-hosted ap.ghost.org for activitypub? I’ve seen a few cases where someone moved servers and needed something cleared on the Ghost Pro end. You might send them (support@ghost.org) a very nice email including your site’s url and ask them if they can reset it.
