Build a community

What other products do people use to build a community around their sites if any. Getting my readers to interact is pretty hard cause they are not that tech savy in the first place. But what options are out there.

I have a slumbering Patreon page with zero to no action on it. Does anybody know how the chat functionality may work over there?

Most of my subscribers come via Substack (weird) but to get new people to sign up over there feels like stupid when dedicated to Ghost. Discord?

Hello there! Try Discord, Discourse, or a private Facebook group. Use Substack’s comments for engagement since your audience is already there.

I quit Facebook long before it got trendy to do so. I am not that active on Substack, and when I was, nothing ever came out of either notes, chats nor comments.

The only thing I do good there is to keep a silent profile and pick up subscribers :raised_hands:- which I like. So both great suggestions but not really me.

But I did sign up for Discord yesterday to check it out via the server of a podcast I follow. It made me feel very old and dusty  I also dug into a separate solution but those things are so hard to get going and cost so much.

I understand! Discord can be tricky at first, but starting small with polls or Q&As can help. Let me know if you need tips!
