Comments for Ghost - Ghost Changelog

@Ghost I can’t get the moderation for hiding/unhiding comments to work. The documentation says:

To hide or unhide a comment, login to your site as a member on any device that is also logged in to your staff account, and click the three dots.

  • I’m logged in to the dashboard as the owner of the site.
  • I’ve created a test member and use that test member to sign in to the site as a member.
  • The site behaves just as if I was only logged in with the member account, meaning that I can only edit or delete the comments made with the test member or report other members comments.
  • I’ve also tried the Member impersonation method but the issue is the same.

The above has been tested in both Chrome and Firefox, in the same tab, separate tabs for the dashboard and blog post and private/incognito mode and it’s all the same. What am I missing or doing wrong?

I might also add that even if I get it work, the process of having to have a member account and do a double sign in to moderate comments is rather unintuitive. When I get an email about a reported comment, I have to:

  • Sign in to the dashboard as a staff user.
  • Open the blog post in question.
  • Click the subscribe button.
  • Switch to sign in with an existing account.
  • Enter the email for the “moderation member account”.
  • Wait for the email with the sign in link.
  • Use the sign in link and then finally arrive at the blog post to moderate the comment.

Hopefully this process can be improved upon in subsequent releases, but right now my main issue is that I can’t even access the moderation feature.
