I’m trying to update Ghost to the latest version but failed because of the file permissions. Could you help me?

I got 2 errors. But I have already assigned a new user for that. How can I grant the new user for the ghost update?

  • Checking current folder permissions
  • Checking if logged in user is directory owner

It would be helpful to see the messages. Nonetheless, run ghost doctor from the Ghost folder and this will tell tou how to correct this. Run ghost doctor again and until no errors are reported.

Furthermore, if you are updating Ghost V4 to Ghost V5, be sure to update to V4-latest first, and upgrade to MySQL 8.0 if you haven’t done so already.
