Newsletter template bug

I created a newsletter template and did some light customization of the background color. I noticed the up vote and down vote icon don’t share the same background as the newsletter. I could not find a setting to adjust these.

Not sure this is a bug really. What theme are you using? It could be that the thumbs up/down buttons are meant to have a white background. Depends on what the theme developer was going for. If there’s not a setting to change that in the theme’s settings, it’s probably an intentional design decision.

Themes don’t have any control over the look of the emailed newsletter.

Oh, well that’s strange.

Seems like the theme would control some of those aspects so the website and emailed newsletters could have a more unified style, I guess in the form of some pre-built email templates to match.

Never mind me then, carry on.

That would be cool, but nope. :joy:

I think it’s a deliberate choice, because producing HTML that actually works as email turns out to be a totally separate skill set compared to theme work – it’s tables, all the way down. No external stylesheets, no javascript, nothing but inlined styles.

This is not a template for the site, but the builtin newsletter template. In the Footer you get the option “ask your readers for feedback”. This puts the thumbs up or down icons in the newsletter. In the preview you can see the background color matches. But when it is delivered the icons backgrounds are off.

Is there away to make these transparent show they match the template preview? Whne the newsletter is sent it looks like this.
