Using Chrome with Theme dawn 1.0.0 on a newly set-up blog, I see the following under my posts.

It looks like you haven’t set a profile picture. You have a couple options:
- Set a profile picture
- Disable author listing (
/ghost/#/settings/design/edit, click thethemetab in the right sidebar, then theshow authorsetting)
Since Dawn supports disabling the author listing, I feel that the current behavior is reasonable—the alternative is to exclude an author from the list when they contributed to the post.

My gut instinct when a picture isn’t provided is that it would fall back to text display. What do you think?
That’s effectively what’s done (maybe not for other browsers?) albeit with the broken image icon as well
Right - and I think it would be an enhancement to not show the broken image, and just display text. Broken image (which is default behaviour) seems sub-optimal.
I appreciate setting the picture is the solution here, just my 2 cents.
