Hi,
I’m an employee using my company’s self-hosted Ghost platform. When I try to publish a blog, I get the following error message:
“Request was rejected because user is not permitted to perform this operation.”
I a, not able to add any images, or code, I content is not saving on the ghost when I preview it.
I have all necessary permissions to publish the blog, but ghost is not allowing.
I’ve attached a screenshot of the error for reference.
Could you please guide me on what might be causing this issue?
I would appreciate any advice or steps to resolve this issue. Thank you!
What is the “role” of your Ghost admin user? You should have at least “Author” role to be able to publish posts. Users & Permissions – Manage your team

He is the CTO of our company, and I am in the author role. And the publish option is enabled for me.
I am still not able to publish.

We usually see this occurring when the request is being rejected before it gets to Ghost as it’s not an error that comes from Ghost itself.
For example we’ve seen this before when using Cloudflare with restrictions set that aren’t compatible with the type of data that Ghost allows you to save, e.g. So frustrated. "Request was rejected because user is not permitted to perform this operation" - #4 by rpetty
Can you guide me, how to resolve this?

It depends entirely on your hosting/networking setup, it’s not something Ghost-specific so it’s difficult to guide you without the knowledge of your infrastructure.
If you’re unsure what firewalls/CDNs or other security mechanisms are in place are you able to find that out from your IT department?
Sure, thanks for letting me know.
