I currently do not write for companies or any type of business (active, that requires it), but rather freely in different projects.
I find that I can only write at the humble level I’ve developed — time passes and I’ve been doing it for some years now — when I’m truly motivated to do so.
For me, writing is a purely creative expression. Maybe this differs from other people, who do it in a more articulated and analytical way, but this is my personal experience.
If I start writing and suddenly the writing stops, I continue at another moment or on another day. I learned not to hesitate even for a second, because that’s how I can then transmit actually something.
I found an almost direct relationship between my creative capacity and the fact of living in active meditation. I think (not only for writing) that we need to relax our mind, release stress…
I’ve not written for a while. Life’s happened, and that’s fine. For me, everything happens at the right time, but I’m slowly getting back in to it. I definitely find that sometimes you need to step away to want to get back in
I’m in the ‘leave it for another day’ camp, but with a compromise: on those days I just open a draft and dump bullet points or half-sentences without trying to make it readable. No pressure to publish. Nine times out of ten the actual post comes together much faster the next day because the skeleton is already there. Forcing it never works for me - the writing always sounds like it.
