Add Dark Mode Handle or Option for Color and Background

No matter which of the free themes I am using, when setting the color using Settings → Branding, that color is applied to both light and dark mode.

For obvious reasons, that is not very user friendly. It would be great with an option for color for text, links and buttons for light and dark.

To further explain this; this image shows the areas where the accent color stays the same - no matter what free theme you use with light or dark “mode”. I have chosen to not show the subscribe button since I will add a contact us form button in its place.

To further add to this…
This is an ACCESSIBILITY issue, not just a “user friendly” issue. This is a huge limitation with Ghost that affects people with visual impairments and affects our SEO. Colors need to pass the contrast checker – and that’s impossible to do with only one accent color option that applies to both light and dark mode. There should be two separate accent color options for light and dark, that applies to both the site and the newsletter.

I’ve also noticed that the Sign Up cards and Header cards don’t meet accessibility standards either by limiting the text to white only. For lighter backgrounds and images, black text is needed. The ability to custom color the text would be nice to have in the edit box.
