HI - i would like to create a post and assign it to a page and not have the post appear on the home page but only on another page i create

Wouldn’t it make sense to make both as pages? That way none of them will appear on homepage, but you can still link them together.
Not sure if I misunderstand your use case though. Can you share more details about what you are trying to do?
