Can't add a new staff user from the ghost CMS hosted in droplet server

When i go to add the new staff user from the ghost CMS which i have hosted in the digital ocean droplet. i can access the ghost cms, but when i go to the settings page and then try to add a staff user(Invite people button) with the admininstrator access and click ‘Send Invitation’, it just stops and doesn’t do anything. no api calls nothing.

what is the issue here.

i am using ghost ver - 5.88.2 on ubuntu 22

Did you configure outgoing transactional email?

do you mean, configure mailgun?

Not necessarily, but you do need to configure SOMETHING to deliver transactional (not newsletter) email, or else no invitations to staff users will go out.

Configuration - Adapt your publication to suit your needs (see the ‘mail’ section).

already configured. but still when i click ‘send invitation’ it gets stuck the button changes to ‘sending…’ and doesn’t show any changes.

DO is probably blocking outbound port 25.
