Changing order of posts

Where do I go and how do I change the order of posts on the home page (in the sliders)?

That is most likely defined in the theme you’re using.

Mind sharing which one it is? Maybe somebody can find out then

It’s aspirethemes.com Tripoli theme.

Thank you very much for your offer to help.

Those sections are created with a #get request. I think you’d need a very small edit on the theme itself.

Cathy, thank you for your help on this. The problem is that I’m not a techie or code guy and don’t know how to find that or modify it simply. Isn’t there a way I could do this with some sort of reordering within the theme on the ghost dashboard?

Unfortunately, no. #get requests are embedded in the theme code, so unless the developer of the theme created custom theme settings to influence the behaviour, you’d have to go into the theme code itself.

Well, that’s a drag. But thank you for setting me straight. Much appreciated.

A workaround if you don’t want to edit the code (it’d be a pretty small edit) would be to recognize that it’s going to show the newest post first, and so to mess around with publication dates to get the order you want.

I’d thought about that, Cathy. Now that you’ve given it a thumbs-up, I think I’ll go for it.

Sometimes, I think these theme designers don’t think enough about how their themes are being used. Hierarchy is important to journallists.

I’ve worked with a lot of journalists and small newsrooms, and newest-first has almost always been what they’ve wanted! But I guess if you’re publishing a series of articles, you might want them in the opposite order!
