Quick question: Does the Ghost dev team have any plans, even way down the backlog, to develop a discussion board for Ghost? I know about integrating Discourse, which I’ve done in the past. But the work involved versus the uptake from my members then made it not worth the effort.
I’d like to try one again, but I’m not willing to go through integrating an external service in order to get SSO. One that was built into Ghost, and used the Ghost login process, would be much better.
I suspect the answer is “No,” or even “No – are you kidding?!?” But, thought I would ask.

I would love the very same feature as you do.
I’m not the dev team, although sometimes they merge my stuff.
I’m pretty sure I saw the question come up a while ago, and the answer was no, but I don’t immediately have a link to it. A discussion board is a totally different thing than a blogging-and-newsletter platform. It’d be on the same sort of scope as Ghost itself. Given that there are several discussion board options out there, it probably doesn’t make sense to try to build one from scratch.
If the integration with Discourse isn’t smooth, it might make more sense to advocate for smoothing out whatever is adding friction. I don’t think you’ll get a discussion board baked directly into Ghost.
(Or a pony.)
