Docker multiple Ghost (6.x) instances (2025 edition)

Hey, what are your experiences with running multiple instances of Ghost 6 in Docker in the new (preview) setup?
I spent last weekend testing it, and to be honest, I feel like looking for another tool for some of my websites…
Or is it just not “the moment” yet to think productively about self-hosted Docker Ghost?

I still prefer the CLI method from all my tests… But if feel like I’m the minority I guess.

I know you can’t get all the bells and whistles this way, or guarantee functionality, but I don’t like this move at all.

I do use Magic Pages for my actual production, but still… I feel it’s extremely unfavorable towards the community to disregard CLI method for docker only.

With the Docker method, I think you should just duplicate ghost docker service with different mysql database name and it should just work. What was your specific issue?

PS: As you may already know, I’m the founder of Synaps Media, so not a classic self-hoster. But we are using Docker as well (since the beginning). So if you explain the point you are stuck, I can try to help.

Guess I’m also apart of the minority, as I also prefer the CLI method. Not really a Docker fan.
