Ghost Releases on Github (why is v5 the latest?)

On the Ghost Github page the latest Releases shows v5.130.5 but v6.0.9 is def newer. Is there a reason why the latest is still showing a v5 release? Is this just a missed GitHub action update? Or, am I missing something? I thought v6 was officially released.

They released a patch on 5.x related to security - it must have been released just after the last 6.x release. The situation will likely be resolved when the next 6.x release rolls out… tomorrow if they’re on the usual schedule. I think this is just a Github quirk.

I think you’re right!

Between the two releases:
• Ghost v6.0.9 → published 14 September 2025 at 13:34 UTC
• Ghost v5.130.5 → published 14 September 2025 at 13:45 UTC

That means v5.130.5 is newer, by about 11 minutes.

The sort order on the release page confused me and kinda made me wonder if I was running a beta!

I think this was a mistake and it was the case for NPM too. I reported it and Ghost team fixed quickly. GitHub latest tag also seems fixed now.

My bad for bringing this here in the first place. Thanks for doing the more proactive thing muratcorlu and filing an actionable issue. I know better. Next time I’ll follow your lead. :oncoming_fist:
