Has anyone found a reasonably easy way to feature a video instead of an image?

It’d be great to be able to insert a link or embed for a video as a featured image, you know, instead of an image. Anyone figured out a workaround to get this done that’s not too super technical?

I’m pretty comfortable with code but not an engineer by any means. Thanks!

I have a feeling you might be able to do it with the Admin API, but I’ve never tried.

Then you can use internal tags to output a video or img tag based on what the feature image is

I solve it by converting a short movie clip to a gif with gifski and upload. It’s not the same thing, but kind of almost…

The Eston theme allows for embedding video, audio, and other items as the feature image. Documentation for users can be found here and an example of it in action can be found here.

Don’t ask me how the underlying code makes it possible though. You’d have to check out its source code or buy the theme yourself :confused:
