I have 2 years of experience in building products for startups, and I wanted to contribute to an open source project like Ghost. Currently working for a YC Company, I’m looking to contribute to this vibrant community.

Any leads on how this is possible?

Actually, where we could use a lot of help and is a pretty independent project with a lot of creative freedom, is designing more open-source themes for Ghost. If you would like to contribute to it then please DM me. (FYI: I’ll not be available in the next 2 weeks, so we could start collaboration after that.)
