Ideas on how to track and report 404 Errors

I’m wanting to setup some tracking report with Google Analytics to report on 404 Errors. However, the theme I’m using for Ghost doesn’t redirect to a 404 page, it is handled with JS (guessing).

So this is a typical 404 Error page: https://nurui-dark.fueko.net/foo/

Since it’s not a custom url, does anyone have ideas about how to track 404 errors?

cheers
Andrew

Have you taken a look at Google Search Console?
https://search.google.com/search-console/about

I’ve found it really useful for tracking things like this, as well as telling me what people search for before arriving on my site. If you’ve already added your site to Google Analytics then it shouldn’t be too hard to add your site to Search Console as well.

If you are using nginx - what do you see in /var/log/nginx/error.log ?

Thanks for the tip, I’ll take a look and report back.
