Is Ghost-CLI being phased out in favor of Docker?

Hi everyone,

I’m currently using the ghost-cli method to manage my self-hosted Ghost instances and it works great.

However, I’ve noticed that Docker is becoming an increasingly popular deployment method for many applications. I see that Ghost has an official Docker image and a preview guide for a Docker-based installation.

I’m planning for the long-term maintenance of my site and wanted to ask if the Ghost Foundation has any official plans regarding its installation methods. Specifically:

  • Is the long-term vision for Ghost to move towards Docker as the primary recommended installation method?

  • Are there any plans to discontinue or reduce support for the ghost-cli tool in the future?

I’ve reviewed the current documentation and can see that ghost-cli is still the main recommended method for Ubuntu. I’m just hoping to get some clarity on the future direction so I can make informed decisions.

Thanks for any insight you can provide!

Then how could I add DigitalOcean object storage? According to my knowledge we cannot modify docker containers.

And If I want to migrate y servers to high performance servers, then how could I do it with docker?
