Issue with adding Staff

Hi Im running ghost:3.42.4. For some reason, I cannot successfully add staff members.
I send the email, they log in and they are added to the staff list. But when I browse the slug I get a 404. Any suggestions? Thanks,

Is this on the front-end of your website? A front-end author page will only exist for a staff user if they have published a post.
