Mailgun Flex plan deprecated

I discovered today that the Mailgun Flex plan has been deprecated, and the new lowest tier is $15 / month:

As the clients I build Ghost sites for are mostly artists and nonprofits who value a free plan, this means I have to pause all work, as $15/month for these folks just for mail is a complete nonstarter.

Is there currently a way to change Ghost’s mail provider? How can I help make this feature a reality?

Update: the Flex plan is still available, but in an extremely dark pattern:

  1. You have to be on a paid plan or a trial of the paid plan
  2. Go to Settings > Manage Account > Begin Cancellation

And only once you threaten account cancelation does the Flex option get offered. Sigh.

Thanks a lot, this worked after purchasing foundation 50k plan for the remaining 5 days of the month (5$) and immediately cancelling and follow the “Begin cancellation” pattern!

I tried this yesterday with the downgrading, but it did not work for me.

Because of that, I wanted to delete my account (I’m not willing to pay 15 bucks for emails…) and e voilà, I got the offer to go Flex instead ^^’

I tried this on a newly created Account on the Foundation Trial plan, as well as an account on the paid foundation 50k plan. Both worked just fine with the “You want to cancel? Here you go” trick.
