Problem: user profile only allows the display of Facebook and X accounts. User may use additional profiles and not use Facebook and/or X.
Solution: replace with one field that pulls platform icons according to URL (i.e. facebook.com) with the ability to add additional fields (Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube etc.).
This would really be a necessary improvement. I find that this obligation to set up a facebook / twitter profile or nothing at all is not very consistent with the innovative and free product that ghost can be.
In the same way that you add links to the top of the page or the footer, you should be able to add links that you name as you wish. At the moment, the custom link that is allowed is often not in the highlighted themes, so you have to click on the profile picture, which isn’t very intuitive.
In short, this profile page could be much more open and effective.
Great idea! A flexible system for multiple platforms makes way more sense. Hope this gets implemented!
