Self-hosting with custom newsletter templates?

I’m starting a newsletter, and I’d like to use a custom email template I’ve designed to replace all the transactional user emails as well as the newsletter.

Currently, am self-hosting via Digital Ocean’s Ghost droplet and can modify the template files directly there, but, going forward, I’d have to manually track, update and modify these templates each time Ghost pushed a new feature set.

Wondering if anyone has advice on how to best manage this.

Thanks, Davis.

Right now that seems to be the only way.

Although modifying the core to modify something like this is considered bad practice, we should trust the great team at ghost to improve email personalization / traffic in the future.

But the team at ghost won’t reply to any of the threads like this…

@Davis_Hunt what did you figure out since regarding custom email templates in ghost - any way to import/export them?
thanks

@Davis_Hunt Can you help me find the template files for newsletters? I was searching through the source code for them but couldn’t locate them.

@Dean_Felch The template is in ghost/current/node_modules/@tryghost/email-service/lib/email-templates
