Is it possible that Ghost will support this feature?
Google are currently testing this and haven’t yet committed to joining the IndexNow protocol. We’re keeping watch on this though - if it is something Google rolls out then we’ll look at supporting it in Ghost.
Cloudflare + Ghost and you have IndexNow: https://blog.cloudflare.com/cloudflare-now-supports-indexnow/
Has the Ghost team’s position on this feature changed since last year?
It is not yet clear whether Google will ever adopt IndexNow, but in the meantime more and more platforms are adopting this protocol in order to facilitate SEO and sustainability.
Or maybe there is a way to support IndexNow manually with webhooks? ![]()
Exactly. And it works very well. Anyway, it’s a kind of a useless feature as only Bing supports this. Nobody uses Bing.
A post was split to a new topic: Help adding text file to frontend
IndexNow is now available out of the box for all Ghost sites hosted on Magic Pages:
Even though I think this should be done in Ghost itself, I also enabled automatic IndexNow integration on all Synaps Media websites. Thanks @jannis for the trigger!
I’ll also consider working on a PR to add this functionality in Ghost when I have availability.
Hi guys, @jannis @muratcorlu ,
I saw in a recent ghost release that indexnow was integrated, I was hoping to find it in the Labs, but i don’t see it. I have Ghost Version: 6.13.2
Environment: production
Database: mysql8
Mail: SMTP
Sorry to bother for this but where do you set it up ?
Hello @jeremielondon,
Yes, thanks to @jannis, it’s released with v6.12 as a private feature. You can enable IndexNow integration by adding:
"labs": {
"indexnow": true
}
to your config.production.json file. Then restart Ghost. From that point, Ghost will ping indexnow service with every new post or updates.
The recent PR added it as alpha feature, which is usually what happens with new features that are added to Ghost. These need to be specifically enabled (search for enableDeveloperExperiments).
But…these are well…”developer experiments”. I am testing it on a few sites – not sure if anybody else is testing it. It can break at any time though or the Ghost team might decide to remove it altogether.
Well reveived,
thanks guys @jannis @muratcorlu , i will test it, it cannot be worst than without so i guess the risk to turn it on is not big ![]()
It’s enabled on all Synaps Media sites since the beginning. ![]()
