Hey! The 6.0 analytics tools are really really helpful – we just had a question about what ‘Direct’ could mean under the web traffic sources? Is this just a collect all for any visitors that cannot be tracked from their source?

That’s a pretty accurate way to look at it.
“Direct” historically meant a user who directly typed in your site address to visit so didn’t have any referrer information. In practice it will also capture any visits where the referer information is missing for some reason - e.g. sites can instruct browsers not to share referer when external links are clicked, some browser privacy extensions block all referer sending, and some traffic patterns simply don’t create referer information
