Hi guys,

I was looking for a clean and clear comment section for my blog and I did not find anything until I found Commento. It is totally free when we self-host it. And there is an alternative free method to self-host it with Heroku if your domain added to Cloudflare, otherwise you have to pay $7.00 to Heroku to buy Hobby Dyno for install SSL.

If someone interested to have Commento with free hosting, here is the way to do it. If you are confused with setup, please do not hesitate to contact me. I will help you.

Commento Heroku installation

In these days I am optimising the dark mode of my Commento with Casper 3.0.11

And I have slightly modified Commento to remove Powered by Commento. I can show you how to do it also. You can check it at Android āˇ€āˇāļŠāļšāˇāļģāļēāˇ.

Hi, I tried deploying to heroku, but when I access it I get an “Application error”. Am I missing something?

First of all, you have to create a CSS file as follows and put it into a folder in your theme or else you can link the following CSS link of mine without creating a one.

https://androidwedakarayo.com/assets/built/commento.css

Then you have to replace your code as follows.

        <script defer src="https://androidwedakarayo.tk/js/commento.js"
            data-css-override="https://androidwedakarayo.com/assets/built/commento.css" data-auto-init="true"></script>
        <div id="commento"></div>

If you have created a CSS and put it into your theme, then you have to replace it with your path.

How about Comentario? It seems much more advanced than Commento (++) and it’s compatible it terms of database
