Best Ghost themes to use without images?

I’m looking for the best themes to use without images.

They are hard to find as the demos are always with images. The only one that has made an attempt seems to be Paragraph.

But there are surely themes that are excellent when used without images. This is the case with Source, the official Ghost theme. It’s very beautiful, even without images.

Do you have any ideas to help me?

I agree - it’s hard to tell how a theme will look without images from the preview!

Journal comes to mind, as it is without images by design. Digest, too, if you want the most recent post on the front page.

Dawn also does not use images on the homepage, except for the featured carousel.

Yeah, agreed. While there’s a ton of handsome, well designed Ghost themes, there does seem to be a lack of themes that eschew an image forward layout and aesthetic. Aside from the ones Cathy mentioned here are a few more that come to mind at the moment.

Best of luck in the search and let us know if you come across anything that works for you. I’m sure there’s other Ghost users who are looking for something similar to what you have in mind.

Thanks @Griffin and @Cathy_Sarisky. I like Zurich, especially as it has a specific page listing authors.

Why isn’t Zurich listed in the @Griffin marketplace?

This makes me think that dynamic filters should be added to tags that are a little more technical, such as :

  • multi-author compatible
  • friendly for no pictures blogs
  • minimalist vs maximalist
  • filtering by studio: allows you to see a studio’s work as a whole
  • price range (filtering on maximum price)

What do you think @Cathy_Sarisky?

Yeah that’d be nice. Maybe start an ideas thread?

I think a theme creator needs to submit their theme to have it listed.

Aside from Paragraph and Source, you might want to check out themes like Alto or Ubud if you haven’t already. They’re minimalistic and still look polished even with a text-only layout. Also, themes focused on blogs or writing tend to work better without images, so maybe look in that direction.

I finally chose Zurich from Themex. It is multi-author compatible, which was an important criterion for me.

To follow up on this threat: I found this private marketplace that lists Ghost themes https://ghost-themes.com/

Perhaps the creator would be interested in reading this post but I can’t find it on the forum.

Also, to follow up, there’s another problem I’m having: I bought this Zurich theme and it turns out that support, despite several of my requests, has never replied. What am I supposed to do in this case? Because the Themex agency offers themes on the Ghost marketplace. This isn’t the first time I’ve received no response after buying a theme, which makes me feel really unpleasant. The theme I’ve bought isn’t compatible with custom fonts, so I’d like to know if the agency has planned an update, but no answer.

There’s an email and a contact form for that theme creator here: Contact

yes @Cathy_Sarisky I send 3 emails last month with no answer
