Can I lose the "sign in" feature altogether?

I’d rather at this point have a site I can just point people to and they enter, rather than confronted with an “info mining scheme” front page when they don’t even know what my site is about. How do i lose the “subscribe” welcome page and just let visitors enter the site?

Most of the ghost sites don’t do that. Can it be related with your theme? Which theme are you using? Or maybe easier, can you share link or screenshot to give a clear picture about what you mean?

That sounds like either Portal is taking over the entry point, or the site is set to private.

I’d check Settings → Access first and make sure the publication is public. If that already looks right, then check Settings → Membership / Portal and turn off the Portal welcome flow so visitors land on your actual home page instead of the sign-in screen.

If you’re on a custom theme, it’s also worth checking whether the theme is routing / to a members-only template, because on a normal public Ghost site people should be able to browse the site before signing in.

Apparently I did have it set to “private” without meaning to. I messed around with the settings yesterday but couldn’t get any changes to take effect (the “save” button would not “save”, site arrow kept spinning) so I came on the forum. today when I log onto my site, no “subscribe” anywhere. Thanks for your reply muratcorlu.

Thanks TaylorBrooks.
