Candidus - a powerful, yet elegant theme

Hello everyone,

my better half and I have designed on this theme for about a year now and finally decided to release it as an open source project.

There’s a fully-fledged documentation, as well as a demo page available.

We’d be honored if you took a look at it and, if you like it, leave us a star on Github

If you like it, you can download a ZIP-file from the Github repository.

All the best, and have happy new year

Very pretty and thanks for sharing!

Two minor issues I noticed:
Your tags box text color (bottom of the page) isn’t right in light mode.
The little box containing the name of the tag in the post cards is partially on top of the author and date section.

Hey Cathy, thanks for your feedback :) I’ve addressed the issue with the tags but I cannot replicate the second point. In what browser did you check?

All the best

iPhone 12 mini, Safari browser, iOS 18-something.

Was able to replicate the issue & will be fixed with v1.1.8. Thank you so much :)

Thanks for releasing this! I too have a bug report. The bottom nav overlaps the topics on a mobile screen. See screenshot attached.

Hey there. Thanks for your report. I’ve addressed the issue - the newsletter section was meant to be hidden on mobile devices, hence it pushed the tag cloud down.

It’s fixed now :)

It’s a nice theme, thanks for sharing. I uploaded it to my site to test it, but I saw 2 small errors. 1. The problem is that the font of the menu that opens on the side is quite large, so when there are too many labels, some are not visible. 2. The problem is that there are no user login areas in the top menu. For your information, the member cannot log in to the site or cannot find the account section after logging in.

Hi Echo,

thanks for the feedback. I’ve decreased the paddings around the links and ensured the sidebar would be scrollable for many elements with v1.1.11.

Candidus relies heavily on Ghost’s default features for the login and user areas.
I’ve added a todo for the repository because it’s indeed a nice idea
