Changing Free/Premium terms, labels

I find these two labels and class distinctions not very positive for visitors.

Have searched but didn’t find how to change other than a lot of chatter about it.

I’d rather use Member and Supporter for positive terms rather Free and Premium which both have some, unintentional or not, discrimination/elitist feeling, perceptions.

Public vs. Free is confusing (I know, Free gets emails, Public only browses, but it is free.)

So unless I missed it, can these terms be changes via customizing a theme?

Premium tiers can be customized via Settings → Membership. It is possible to customize the wording around the Free option but not the term “Free” itself.
