Hi, I am new to Ghost and am trying to build a blog. I see a lot about how Ghost is super customizable, but find it difficult to find any info on how to edit themes. How can I edit the default theme or Alto theme to, for example, change the background color?
To change the background color, you can use the code injection area add update the css. I don’t think you need to edit the theme for changing the background color.
But if you want major changes especially the layout customization then definitely you have to edit the theme files
How would I go about editing the theme files? Where are they located?
You can download the theme files from the ghost dashboard-> settings → theme page
then edit the theme, and then zip up the theme and upload the custom theme to the theme page and activate it.
