Early results from activitypub for gaining subs?

I’m curious to know from Activitypub beta users if you are actually seeing growth in subscribers from posting notes in the Fediverse.

Currently when I view my test ActivityPub notes in Mastodon (using the web browser), there are no links back to the Ghost site itself. I can see the name, because it’s in the user handle, but I don’t see anything that’s an actual link.

Seems like that’s something that could be improved!

Here’s what I currently see (viewing an AP post as a Mastodon user, on mastodon.social):

The thing at the bottom that looks like it might be a link to my site doesn’t go to the front page or anything – it goes to a json text file.

To be fair, I don’t think that notes should lead back to the sites. They are more like native shortform content on ActivityPub. You also wouldn’t have a link back to mastodon.social when viewing a shortform post from Mastodon anywhere else.

Depends how you define it. I have not seen any new email subscribers, but being active on ActivityPub through Ghost has brought me a) followers from other Ghost sites that I didn’t know before and b) non-Ghost ActivityPub users following me

So, all in all…more people reading my content?

Thanks, that is very helpful to know. For me, the biggest potential advantage of the ActivityPub implementation is to expand my presence to a wider audience, with the ultimate goal being to increase subscriber count for my Ghost site.

Sorry for not being tech savvy but that notes feed in my dashboard [Ghost Pro] is that something that also comes with a link for people to see?
