Editing a post from the published page

When viewing a published post, how do I edit that post in the quickest way? Is there a shortcut or quicker route other than opening the dashboard, going to posts, and locating the published post?

Append /edit to the url. :)

I asked chatgpt this same question, and it still didn’t know. Wanted me to copy & paste urls togethers. /edit worked like a charm. thank you

I don’t type quite as fast as ChatGPT, but I’m absolutely better at Ghost than it is.

Since switching my portfolio site over to Ghost, I wanted a quicker way to jump into editing posts and pages. Manually adding /edit to the URL every time got old fast (classic first world problem), so I threw together a lightweight Chrome extension to streamline the process.

Click the extension, and it opens the edit view in a new window, leaving the original page right where it is for reference. Simple, but super helpful for my workflow.

On first use, you’ll be prompted to set the base URL of your Ghost site, whether it’s running locally or hosted externally. After that, it just works.

This isn’t an official Ghost extension or even a published Chrome Web Store item. It’s just a personal tool I’m experimenting with, but I figured I’d share it in case it helps someone else. Feedback and ideas welcome. Enjoy!
