Failed to send email. Please check your site configuration and try again?

Hi all,

I created a new ghost site using pikipods. Now, I am using a custom domain. I was able to login initially and verify my login credentials as the admin. I logged out, but now when I try to login again I get this error “Failed to send email. Please check your site configuration and try again”

Whats confusion is I know the info is correct, now I cant access my internal dashboard?

  • What’s your URL? theloonieletter.ca
  • What version of Ghost are you using? Latest

And

  • How was Ghost installed and configured? Pikipods
  • What Node version, database, OS & browser are you using? 6.0.9
  • What errors or information do you see ? Failed to send email. Please check your site configuration and try again

Any suggestions?

PS. I did setup mailgun.

Sounds like you don’t have mailgun set up correctly for transactional email. (Newsletter and transactional are separate.) Transactional email is set up in the pikapods admin panel using environment variables.

Another option would be to set staffDeviceVerification to false, which will cause Ghost to not try to email you when you want to log in an administrator.

If you want to have subscribers to your newsletter, you’ll need to get transactional email working. :slight_smile:

Thank you! Double checked the env variable on pikipods and there was a typo. Everything is functioning as it should now.
