Forced mobile sign up on chrome?

I’m new to Ghost and would love to keep using it, but noticed a red flag for me in my first couple days.

Unless I turn off memberships entirely, the default screen for my link goes the signup screen on mobile chrome browsers. This isn’t the case for any web browser or mobile Safari, which takes you to my home page and allows the lower barrier to entry of just the email subscription.

Desired behavior: my link takes them to my home page, where they can subscribe or read my articles.

Actual behavior: my link takes them to a sign-up screen with passwords and no other option when accessing on mobile Chrome.

I’ve tried reading online, adjusting the membership settings, and making sure it’s not required, but can’t achieve this or find similar articles. Any ideas? I don’t want to switch, but this would be a deal breaker for me, I think.

This is the login screen for your Ghost admin, the dashboard where you manage your Ghost site.

Sounds like it’s rather an issue with your browser. Can you confirm that you’re specifically opening a-feature-a-day.ghost.io and not a-feature-a-day.ghost.io/ghost

Tap on the address bar and have a look what’s in there. Ghost itself has no function built in to forward the frontend of your Ghost site to your admin dashboard.

Could this behavior happen too if @aardrop “locked” his site in the Ghost Admin Settings?

No, in that case (“private mode”), a password field would show up, but no email address or “Forgot” button.
