GIF looping broken lately?

Hey Ghost folks! Lately, the GIFs I upload as a feature image won’t loop, even if my local GIF loops just fine. I suspect there’s some kind of bug in the media handling, because I’m making the GIFs the exact size size/way I’ve been making them, and they used to work.

In fact, the older uploaded GIFs still work just fine in-page, only new GIFs are failing to loop. I can even re-upload an old GIF that works fine on the site, but now the loop fails. Any ideas?

Issue Summary

  • When I upload a looping GIF (confirmed with local file, and in browser), the resulting file plays once, then stays frozen on the last frame

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create an infinitely looping GIF
  2. Upload as a feature image
  3. Watch GIF playback, where it won’t loop

Ghost Version
Lastest version of hosted Ghost, site is clevergames.lol

I found this post because I’m new to Ghost and I’m struggling with making it show looping GIFs too. My GIFs are perfectly looping on my computer and devices, but when uploaded to Ghost, they don’t loop.

Have you found any workaround?

Haven’t found a workaround yet, but can definitely report the bug is still happening. I’m a paid Ghost Pro user, maybe I can take it up with official support. Will report back…
