Help fixing and re-importing my subscriber list

I used to run a newsletter on Revue and am looking to reboot it by switching all my writing from a WordPress site to Ghost. I am currently using a trial of Ghost Pro.

I tried a quick import of my subscriber list yesterday and it went fine, but I didn’t pay enough attention to the name field. It looks like my CSV exported from Revue separated first and last names, while Ghost only does a single “name” field. So I have a bunch of subscribers that are just “David” or “Susan” when, in my CSV, they have a last name. I guess my help has two steps:

  1. Is there an easy way to combine these two CSV columns into the format Ghost wants? I don’t work with spreadsheets much
  2. Is there a way I can delete my members in Ghost and re-upload my CSV, once I get its formatting fixed? I can’t find an option to delete everyone, would someone at Ghost have to do it?

Thanks for any help!

  1. Yes. Open in Excel or Google Sheets or your spreadsheet editor of choice. Use a formula, something like =A1 & ' ' & B1. Or use the CONCATENATE function. Re-export as CSV when done.
  2. You’ll need to apply a filter (but it can be something like “name is not asdfasdfasdfasdfsad”) using the button at top right, and then a delete option will appear in the top right gear button. Alternately, you can import updated names over old names and it should overwrite, as long as the emails match.

Hah, Cathy are you following me.

I’ll poke around at this, I haven’t used table formula stuff much but I can probably figure it out. Thanks for the help!
