How do I know when a contributor's post is ready for publishing?

I am considering Ghost for a project where thousands of contributors would be able to create a post.

Is it possible for Ghost to notify me when a contributor’s post is ready for publishing? Asking them to email isn’t going to be viable.

Also, is there a workaround for a contributor to edit their own post once published? Editing rights isn’t going to work as that is too much freedom.

Any guidance would be great.
