Not a Ghost user myself — I run a small plant-care blog on WordPress — but landed here browsing publishing/indie-creator communities. Curious how folks here approach building out a niche content site, especially around content structure and audience growth. Would love to hear what’s worked for others.
I’d keep the niche site focused rather than trying to cover everything related to the topic. A clear structure makes it much easier for both readers and search engines to understand what the site is about.
For a plant-care blog, for example, you could organize content into areas like beginner guides, individual plant profiles, watering/light problems, pest control, and seasonal care. Then connect related articles with internal links so someone reading about one problem can easily find the next useful guide.
For growth, I’d focus less on publishing a huge number of posts and more on answering specific questions people actually have. A useful workflow is to identify recurring problems, create genuinely helpful articles around them, and then update the strongest posts as you learn more.
I’d also treat the niche site as its own small publication with a consistent voice and purpose, rather than simply using it as a satellite for another website. That usually makes the content feel much more authentic and gives readers a reason to return.
