MySQL keeps causing my blog to go down

If you aren’t running the latest version of Ghost, the first thing we’ll ask you to do is update to the latest version of Ghost.

  • How was Ghost installed and configured? Docker
  • What Node version, database, OS & browser are you using? Node v22.2.2
  • What errors or information do you see in the console? [ERROR] unknown variable ‘default-collation-for-utf8mb4=utf8mb4_general_ci’
    [ERROR] Aborting
  • What steps could someone else take to reproduce the issue you’re having?

I’m not sure how to reproduce. I just know I will have my blog running fine and then after a while it goes down due to this or a similar MySQL error

Did you update your Ghost version on July 5th? Can you share which docker image (and version) do you currently use for Ghost and Mysql? A migration on latest update could cause an issue.
