Hello, what is the best dimension for feature images to upload correctly on our blog. I attached a screenshot so you can see how the feature images I am uploading (1200x675) show up on our resources page off center or certain text is cut off. I’ve tried uploading new feature images and that doesn’t seem to even change the thumbnail.
Can someone help explain?
This isn’t as straightforward as it may seem because your website will change depending on the user’s device (tablet, phone, desktop).
There are two approaches:
-
Because the image will be cropped differently based on the user’s viewport, ensure that your image can withstand cropping. That usually means putting important content in the center.
-
Adjust your CSS or design to accommodate the image. Since your images all seem to be the same size, this might be the way to go for you. Are you able to share a link to your site?
Hi Ryan,
Thanks for responding so quickly.
Here is the link to my site: https://www.daffy.org/resources
That totally makes sense, I guess where I am confused is that even though I’ve updated the feature image to account for this, it still isn’t reflected on the website. But when you click on the blog, you can see the change I made.
Do you know if there is a way to update it even after it’s been published?
I’m not sure I understand. If you upload a new feature image, it should show everywhere automatically. Where isn’t it updated? Or say a bit more about what’s happening?
After you uploaded the new images, did you click update to save the new content?
Do you have a caching proxy between you and the site that might be stopping you from seeing the change? Do you also see the old images on your phone?
