Node version updates - v18, v20 - is there a planned date?

Wondering about planning / co-ordinating Node version upgrades…

Docs Supported node versions for self-hosted installs of Ghost only says that v19 is not supported - which is odd as only even versions are usually considered for production. No mention of v20 or above.

I know that last years upgrades were blocked for several months by upstream dependency test errors.

As:

  • Node 18 entered LTS Maintenance earlier this month.
  • Node 20 entered LTS Active at the same time.

Are there any plans to upgrade to v20 LTS soon(ish)?

v20 is being actively investigated/tested now that it’s an active LTS. Same as usual, there are always plans to support LTS versions fairly soon after they become active but there’s no concrete timeline.
