Npm install is hanging on generateActionsToTake

Hey guys, I want to add some new static pages to my Ghost website (hosted on Ghost(Pro)) so I downloaded the theme and tried running npm install. However, it keeps hanging:

This is for the Edition theme but it also hangs for any other official theme I tried. I’m using an Ubuntu WSL. Any thoughts what might be wrong here?

I have the same issue - most solutions I found online do not solve the issue.

I tried updating npm itself with
npm install -g npm@latest

and then running npm with --legacy-peer-deps and that worked (at least, it got me past this issue)
