Public and Internal Tag Visibility - How can I link to feeds of Internal Tags

Is there a way to create tags that don’t simultaneously create headers on my homepage? Alternatively, is there a way to use internal tags and link to their pages from public pages? I’ve created an internal tag for a subcategory of my posts and added a hyperlink to it from a public page, but I get a 404 error using this method.

Internal tags are… internal! They’re not publicly accessible

I’m currently using Taste. I realised the internal tags are not generally public, but as a slug was still generated, I thought it could still be linked. I wasn’t sure what other use it would have.
