In our organisation we have multiple editors and sub-editors in the CMS at any given time. Our process includes an author as the original editor and then a second author for sub-edits. Our team is globally diverse and editing coordination is via Slack.
We frequently run into issues with multiple people editing a post at the same time. There is an alert banner for this scenario but it’s not overly reliable. Sometimes it doesn’t display until you try to save the post or exit back to the Posts list. In this scenario it’s near impossible to recoup your work and merge with any edits being done by another user.
In an ideal world it would be possible to see which posts are being actively edited in the Posts list along with who the current editor is. Note that this has long been a standard feature of Wordpress.
